Exploring Horizons: Dr. Kaynat Kazi Inspires Students at VIT Bhopal Orientation
VIT University Bhopal recently
hosted its orientation session for the incoming batch of students, marking the
start of an exciting academic journey. The event was a blend of warm welcomes,
motivating speeches, and thought-provoking insights—culminating in an inspiring
address by the distinguished chief guest, Dr. Kaynat Kazi, an acclaimed
author, travel writer, researcher, photographer, and cultural documentarian.
The session began with a welcome
address by Dr. Shweta Mukharjee, Assistant Dean, First Year, who set the
tone by highlighting the opportunities awaiting students at VIT Bhopal. This
was followed by an address by Dr. K.K. Nair, Registrar, who emphasized
the university’s commitment to academic excellence, and Dr. T.B. Shridharan,
Pro Vice-Chancellor, who encouraged students to embrace innovation and
holistic growth.
Dr. S. Poonkuntaran, Executive
Dean, SCSE, introduced and felicitated the chief guest, acknowledging her
remarkable achievements and contributions to literature, cultural preservation,
and travel documentation.
In her captivating talk, Dr.
Kaynat Kazi focused on the importance of a multidisciplinary approach
to education—encouraging students to explore beyond the boundaries of their
core disciplines to foster creativity, adaptability, and problem-solving
skills. She spoke passionately about the rich heritage of India, urging
the young minds to appreciate and learn from the country’s diverse traditions
and cultural history.
Sharing her incredible journey of
traveling over 3,00,000 kilometers across India in just five years, Dr.
Kazi narrated stories from remote landscapes and bustling cities, each
experience deepening her understanding of human connections, traditions, and
languages. She also emphasized the pride and beauty of the Hindi language,
motivating students to not only master global languages but also to value and
promote their mother tongue.
Her address was not just a
speech, but a heartfelt call to embrace learning in all forms—academic,
cultural, and experiential.
The event concluded with a vote
of thanks by Dr. Neha Chaubey, Assistant Director, Admission, who expressed
gratitude to all dignitaries, students, and organizing teams for making the
orientation a success.
As the students left the
auditorium, they carried with them not just an introduction to university life,
but also a renewed sense of curiosity, pride in their roots, and the motivation
to embark on their own journeys of discovery.
