Child Protection Workshop: Inspiring Awareness and Empowerment
Understanding Safe and Unsafe Touch
September 3, 2024 | Uma Public School
On September 3, 2024, Uma Public School became the stage for an important initiative dedicated to promoting personal safety and healthy development among young learners. The Child Protection Workshops, hosted in collaboration with the Bougainvillea Art Foundation, brought together educators, advocates, and health experts to guide students through crucial topics with sensitivity and care.
Understanding Safe and Unsafe Touch
The day began with the session “Understanding Safe and Unsafe Touch”—designed especially for primary school students. Led by Nandini Rai, the workshop aimed to equip children with the knowledge and confidence to recognize, respond to, and report inappropriate behavior.
Students participated enthusiastically, engaging in interactive discussions and activities. Through role-play, storytelling, and relatable examples, the young participants learned how to identify safe boundaries and protect themselves, while also understanding the importance of speaking up.
A Step Toward a Safer, Stronger Future
The workshop series was not just about disseminating information—it was about inspiring a generation to be aware, confident, and compassionate toward themselves and others. With the combined efforts of Nandini Rai, Dr. Kaynat Kazi, and the Bougainvillea Art Foundation, the day reinforced the message that education, empathy, and dialogue are powerful tools for building safer communities.
